they send you a phony link and when you go to it it askes you for your steam details :/ pretty noob if you go to it if you ask me

It's called a 'phisher', I have one lying around somewhere.

TBH, it's not really that nooby because it is an exact replica of the steam page and they have some really convincing domains sometimes.

yeh it totally sucks and it WAS very convincing... i really should have known better though... steam will never ask for your account details ON A WEBSITE... only ever through the steam program.... FACE PALM

They do ask for your details via the steamcommunity website?

FUUUU- this happened to me.. bloody nomnoms.. and today, my steam acc is disabled. as soon as i saw this i let out the biggest "FUCK".

It's actually really easy to get your steam account back. Once I contacted steam support, I had my account back within a few days.

Just need proof that it's your account (ie credit card details for games purchased or a digital photo of CD keys with your steam name and ticket number).

gave em my cd key for cod6, and proof of purchase email in an attachment, explained why it may have been locked (phishing scam) and win =D
